Hospital Information Minimize

The Evangelisches Krankenhaus Bielefeld gGmbH (EvKB) is a limited company whose parent units, the Bethel and the Johanneswerk Foundations, jointly employ more than 20.000 people in various primary and secondary health care institutions throughout Germany.

With 4.200 members of staff and 1.700 beds the EvKB in Bielefeld is the largest hospital in North-Rhine-Westfalia and provides health care of the highest quality to about 50.000 inpatients per year. It serves as an academic teaching hospital to the University of Münster and is part of Valeo, the league of protestant hospitals in Westfalia.

The EvKB is renowned as a centre of excellence for Neurosurgery, Neurology and Paediatrics. It is located in northern Germany, well connected to the motorway system and with easy access to the airports at Düsseldorf, Hannover and Paderborn.

The patients are accommodated in two-bedded rooms with en suite facilities and bedside telephones; accommodation is available for relatives and parents of sick children and modern service facilities are provided throughout. A large number of beds are provided with curtains, mobile privacy screens are available on all wards. The rooms are fitted with TVs offering two English- language channels; patients can chose from a largely international menu, but typically „British“ elements such as bacon and egg for breakfast, meat pies and sausages, are also available. The clinical and nursing staffs are mostly bilingual due to a continuous programme of English language classes introduced by the Management.
